The politics of the movie has a lot more to do with my choice to see it or not than that of the actors. I don't mind paying to see liberals act in a movie with a conservative message, I enjoy the irony of it in fact. I agree with this, although there are some I will not watch.
I have always watched anything to do with Pearl Harbor - (I was born 4 days after that Day of Infamy.) - but I have not seen the latest movie because I heard Alec Baldwin was cast as one of the Generals. I considered that an insult to the General.
I used to enjoy anything with Barbra S. - no more, in any way, shape, or form.

You did not miss anything by avoiding the latest Pearl Harbor movie. A lot of films play fast & loose with history, but that one took the practice to new heights. It was a big steaming pile of you-know-what.
And yes, it was really galling to see an anti-American scumbag like Alec Baldwin playing the part of a hero like Jimmy Doolittle. The latter is probably still spinning in his grave over that one.

Yes, Alec Baldwin played Jimmy Doolittle, a travesty. Doolittle was / is a Great American. Baldwin is a long Island doofus too stupid to know who butters his bread.

Someone gave me the DVD 'Sum of All Fears' for Christmas. It is still in the wrapper.
I can't bring myself to watch another Ben Affleck movie. Aside from his politics, I can't imagine him as Jack Ryan. I'll bet if Tom Clancy had had any say, Affeck would not have gotten the part.
I did see 'Pearl Harbor'. The first 1 1/2 hours is boring. The special effects of the actual attack are excellent.
If they wed the first 3/4 of 'Tora,Tora,Tora' to the 'Pearl Harbor' attack, now that would be a movie.
