Will someone PLEASE get this on all Spanish-language stations across the US!?
To: RamingtonStall
Maybe we can capture Sadaam and also UBL to bring them to the Senate Chamber and make them listen to the Filibuster!
How long would it take for the ACLU and KKK Byrd to file a Suit with the Supreme Court claiming Cruel and Unusual Punishment?

By the time he restates the question posed, he will have forgotten what the question was....

Isn't this the Party that wanted "all the votes counted"?

Orrin Hatch
Unfortunately, even in his finer moments he has a mild mannered delivery. I would like to see some Republican bellow at the Democrats the way Ted Kennedy bellows at the Republicans. It is a dream of mine for some Republican to say something like this to Kennedy on the Senate floor: "How dare the Senator from Massachusetts lecture us on morality, when, in a drunken stupor, he left a young woman to drown in his car as he swam away and saved his own fat ass."

So... I take the afternoon off to watch the debate about Estrada... Turn on CSPAN2, and get Byrd talking about a fiddler.
To: Mo1
why do I have the feeling that dana carvey would do a great impression of Byrd were he still on SNL?
SNL will probably not even mention this even though it is ripe for parody. Heck, it is already one.

We'll try to keep you informed. Oh, oh, Dick Durbin is now talking to Sen. Byrd. Gee, another Democrat criticizing the President because they just realized that they may have to protect their own homes in case of a terrorist attack.
Back to Byrd. "Time and time again the Senator has worked with me and every other Sen. on the approp. committee unanimously to provide money for Homeland Security." "And all that remained to be done, in order for that 2.5 billion $$ to flow to (police, energency personel). ..was for the President to attach his signature and designate it an energency. How little to ask! But how much it would have meant to the first responders..."
Byrd is blaming the President for not getting Homeland Security funds out to the people. "The President literally gave the back of his hand...to that effort."

What did I miss Don't worry Mo, the subject of his dogs and his tenure in the Roman Senate under Augustus Caesar hasn't come up yet.
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
They figure having Senator BYRD do much of the filibuster speeches will cause the GOP to cave in. WRONG!!!

it is my dream for a Republican senator to say "I now yield to the distinguished Klansman from West Virginia, Senator Sheets. Senator?" Then give Byrd a look, turn, and leave the senate chamber. It would be priceless.
To: aristeides
"Senators could get awy with a lot more when their antics weren't as easily observed by the public"
Maybe, but don't count on any of these antics being shown on the CBS Evening News.
