Wouldn't it be ironic if Eric Alterman were to suddenly go blind?

I remember Ed. Didnt he start screaming incoherently at one point? That guy made absolutely no sense. No matter what Hannity said, he was all "Of course you think that, we all know you're a gutless scumbag!" over and over. It was like listening to a 4th grader try to argue. It was hysterical and sad all at once.
Good ol' Ed, where did you go? Whose dumpster are you sleeping behind this week?

"Wouldn't it be ironic if Eric Alterman were to suddenly go blind?" I remember an old wives' tale about what can cause people to go blind. I think Eric Alterman is guilty of it, on public radio and television!

Alterman - besides wishing that Rush had gone deaf - stated that, *it (the country) would be better without Rush Limbaugh and his 20 million listeners*.

Sometimes there is truth in the 'old wives' tales, Tommy. One should be very careful about wishing ill on someone else because God is always listening. Thanks for the rememberance.

Not only that - I haven't heard anything about how his book is doing - I would guess it's not good.

I heard him interviewed on a Pittsburgh station (WPTT 1360 am) yesterday and he decended rapidly into mindless name calling. In defending his 'thesis' that Conservatives own the air waves, the host, a really sharp guy named Jerry Boywer actually got him to call Carville, Begala and George Steph conservatives! It was classic. The Alterman guy has some really lose screws. It sounds as if he could go postal at any moment. It shows that so much of what people "see" depends on where they are standing. He is so far left that to him, anyone who doesn't carry a copy of Mao's Little Red Book" is a radical right-winger.

I asked him about the relationship between CBS/Viacom/Simon Schuster/Sumner Redstone/Clintons - and he had no clue. Call this guy up everytime you get a chance AND BLAST HIM!!!!!!!!! When I heard him, he was going on about "evil Westinghouse" owning CBS which in reality was never the case. Westinghouse bought CBS in 96, nearly immediately changed the corporate name to CBS and then sold all of the Westinghouse business except for broadcasting to other companies. Defense went first to Norton in 96 (to pay for the CBS deal), Power Generation went to Siemens, Nuclear went to British Nuclear, Process Control went to Emerson, and so on. By 1998, every part of the old Westinghouse corporation had been broken up and sold away to the highest bidder. The only thing CBS kept was the rights to the logo which they will sell to anyone for the right amount of money. What brief connection existed between CBS and Westinghouse was totally one sided with CBS calling all the shots. They would have laid off thousands of factory workers in a second if they needed the cash to pad Dan Rather's salery. But this clown still sees the evil corporation pulling Dan Rather's strings while the guy's who do pull Rather's strings are all big-time lefty democrats as shown by the political donations. For someone whose political theology is so invested in finding corporate evil, he is amazingly ignorant of what goes on in business.

Actually, Randi Rhodes had nothing to do with the Rush "I'm a Nazi" song. It was put together some years back by the jocks at WNNX-FM in Atlanta using clips of Rush to sing the song. It's really pretty funny and I'm sure that Rush laughed his butt off when he heard it. If you search around I'm sure you find an mp3 of it.

The "media is owned by corporations" slant is a pathetic dodge they've trotted out for years. Actually, it's true; unfortunately, leftists manage to conceal their dirty little secret: the party of big business and the super-rich is the DEMOCRATS. Both of those groups recognize that entepreneurs represent competition and therefore must be crushed.
