Eric Alterman, the guy who said he wished that Limbaugh had gone deaf, continues his tour of hate
WLS Am radio show in Chicago ^ | today | vanity - sort of

Posted on 02/12/2003 7:58:56 AM PST by republicman

I just was listening to Eric Alterman (if you want to know the full story of what he said about Limbaugh clikck the link.) He was just on a local Chicago talk radio show with a conservative woman named Eileen Byrn. Who as she said, read his book and then argued some points with him.

Throughout the interview she was the picture of civility. He, on the other hand called her "hey lady". He said hers was the stupidest show he had been on and called her all sorts of other names. In spite of his billigerence she argued only the facts and not once called him a name. The interview ended when he prematurely hung up on her.

Eric Alterman = Michael Moore without the body fat, hygiene issues and occasionally funny points.

Kommissar Alterman is just trying to be outrageous in order to get publicity for his book.

The man doesn't understand the difference between 'news' and 'opinion' related programming.

Someone needs to draw up a list of all the democratic hacks who've gone from the party to newsrooms of the big networks during the past ten years & shove it in his face every time he shows up to promote his book.

Any of this archived?

Alterman sounds like "Ed," that screaming liberal brat that infested the Sean Hannity show for a couple of days, calling Sean a "gutless scumbag."

Just another example of how the Left, not only in America but around the world, is losing it big-time. Their psyches have really taken a walk off the map.

LW Kooks are on the radio, like the evil troll Randi Rhodes. Then they wonder why they can't get syndicated because they have ugly stuff like calling others Nazis with vulgars songs to boot. Pacifica radio is also guilty of spewing the same garbage. But in reality Alterman's claim that conservatives dominate the radio is hogwash. Alterman is just pissed there is no LW star as big as Sean hannity or Rush. Check out this garbage(pan down to 01.13.03 - Rush is a Nazi Lyrics):

Ski and Skinner (on the same station as Rush and Hannity)are just as bad:

The "media is owned by corporations" slant is a pathetic dodge they've trotted out for years. This is the chant of the Radio Pacifica/Crystic Institute/Nation/FAIR/ultra-leftist whacko wing of the left which thinks that corporate ownership in itself is proof of a conservative conspiracy.

This is the side that thinks the media isn't slanted left enough. Why is it, they would argue, that they aren't reporting that Bush sabotaged Wellstone's plane? Why is it, they would argue, that they aren't reporting Bush's desire for Iraq's vast oil fields and how it will all be handed over to Cheney's Halliburton buddies if they overthrow Saddam? Why is it, they would argue, that they don't report Bush's welcome of 9-11 attacks as a way to gin up support for a war in the Middle East?

In other words, if the news isn't farther left than even NPR will go, then it's part of the corporate conservative conspiracy and the proof is that NBC, the New York Times, CNN, ABC et al are owed by *corporations*. What more proof do they need!!!

These are the same idiots who would claim that the media is slanted to the right because there's no liberal Rush Limbaugh. That's why he wants Limbaugh muted - it's because they can't compete with him.

Did you check out the guy's facial expressions? I wanted to smack the leering little turd. It was like he was trying to maintain this reasonable attitude but every now and then the BAD Alterman would slip through.

Interesting article. It goes to show that you haven't presented the truth until a mean-spirited person calls you mean-spirited.

Isn't that precious?

(Anyone up for further discussions of the Revelation 20 millennium [grin]? I promise to be nice but clear.)

LOL! Signed up today to post that?

Things liberals are intolerant of:

the right to self defense
gun owners generally
people keeping their own money
self-reliance
self-determination
personal accounability, personal responsibility
morality
integrity
the truth, facts, rational arguments
the Constitution
the Bill Of Rights
the rule of law
State's rights
boy scouts
all points of view not their own
individual liberty
privacy (not that conservatives fare any better here)

"Diversity is a bunch of people who look different, and think the same."

My wife said he was on Mike McConnel's show (Cincinnati) this morning, and that he was pathetic: he could not/would not answer one question, complained that all the questions were "stupid" and offered no evidence of his position.

"(Anyone up for further discussions of the Revelation 20 millennium [grin]? I promise to be nice but clear.)"

Sung in my church recently (Notice how the Lord and I have a good laugh when the dispensationalists sing songs):

Title: Shout to the Lord

My Jesus, my Savior Lord,
there is none like you
All of my days I want to praise
the wonders of Your mighty love

My Comfort, my Shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship You

Chorus:
Shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing
Power and majesty, ***praise to the King***
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
at the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You

This guy is the epitome of what I have been saying for some time now. That is, leftist are non-intellectual. Even though they espouse it, the are incapable of critical thought, a key component of intellect.

I saw him a couple of days ago on John Gibson' "Big Story." He was promoting his book which refutes the idea of a leftist bias in mainstream media. Winding down the interview, he said that the reason leftist are unable to get their message out to the American public was because... they are not as good at communicating as conservatives are.

My jaw just about hit the floor when I heard him say that.

Not as good at communicating as conservatives are? Let's see who he is saying can't communicate. Uh, how about journalist (see the PS) who vote 95% left; 99% of Hollywood who's main job is to make up stories and sell them to the public; the overwhelming preponderance of university faculties; just about every teacher in the United States; the "smartest woman on earth," the hildebeast; and so on and so on.

It simply does not follow that the left isn't at good at communicating with the people of the United States as the conservatives are. I think it may be something that the left has been in denial about for some time now.

IT'S THE MESSAGE, STUPID!

PS To prove my point, just think about how stupid that statement is. Why would anyone want to buy a book from a journalist who admits that he is incapable of communicating his point?

Haven't heard Skinner, but I have heard Ski Anderson a lot - he used to be a frequent guest host for Mike Malloy when he was still with WLS.

(Speaking of mean-spirited lefties - politics aside, I actually found Malloy fun to listen to until his last year with WLS, during which he became completely obsessed with Limbaugh and the "flying monkey right" and what they were saying that day. Rush's pre-commercial jab at leftie commentators, "your show prep will continue," rang absolutely true in Malloy's case.)
