FWIW ... midtown is crawling with cops ... one had a private garbage truck with Jersey plates pulled over on 6th Ave. on my way to work.

Walked through Times Square on my way to work - they had a couple of SWAT guys with black masks and machine guns standing outside the broadway tickets booth. Watching it on TV somehow doesn't have the same impact as it does up close and personal. For the first time since September 11, it felt like a war zone again.
