Here's another way of looking at Islam's connection with Saddam; even though Saddam never was into Islam, HE IS AN ARAB. Even though arabs hate each other, they hate the Jews and Israel and America even more, and this is the common bond that ties them together. The entire arab world's mutual goal that they all have in common is the destruction of Israel since it's inception in 1948. The arabs will not betray each other or Saddam in their unified goal to destroy Israel, (and America), because we support Israel. The bottom line, here, for the arabs is about destoying Israel. This is what it's all about.
