I hope I didn't over-state this by calling them "Scuds," I'm not sure anything else the Iraqis have in their arsenal would be considered "ballistic missles."

The missiles are probably not scuds, but of a shorter range type, and why the Iraqis moved them south to Basra that is closer to U.S. forces.

Scuds are ballistic missiles.

They are a particular type, but we had just as well call them that as anything else. They have variations of these that are called by different names.
