He got a pretty raw deal from NBC after the Gulf War and drifted around for a few years without a real news job. he was dubbed the Scud Stud by female viewers, but as I recall it he never tried to cash in on the sudden fame.

He refused, sopposedly told them he wasn't risking his life...got labeled a chickenshit by his network and they mothballed him.

Need I remind everyone. Blix spent 2 long days in Iraq negotiating and got a deal allowing U-2 flights if..
IF there were
NO more coalition attacks in Iraq.
Who authorized this raid? Now Blix will have to rewrite his report because thats the only concession he got.
Way to go Bush [../sarcasm]

If I was a weapons inspector, I'd be hitchhiking to the airport about now. Sayonara, Hans and El Whatever.

He's allowed to have scuds with a range of 150 miles or less. Once the missles have been bombed, their range should be less than 150 miles. Just think of this as helping Saddam stay in compliance with the UN resolutions.
We're nice guys. We try to help out where we can.

Wondering whether those ballistic missiles were WITHIN THE PERAMETERS allowed by UNresolutions...or if they were something we got tired of waiting for the UNinspectors to get around to?

Soon to be Iraq's first-largest city.

Desert Storm 2 will be the shortest war in history. Not true .... England versus Zanzibar ... 45 minutes.
The island of Zanzibar is located 20 miles away from the coast of Tanzania. It evokes rich vegetations and magnificent beaches. For long, it was by sultans enriched by spice and slave trades. The House of Wonder was built by Sultan Bargash, in 1883, in Beit-el- Ajaib. Sultan Bargash had 100 wives, and would sleep with five of them every night in a context of a rigid rotation of 20 days. Not that bad.
On 25 August 1896, Sultan Hamid bin Thuwain died. Two hours later, a usurper broke into the Palace and declared himself ruler.
England was then the major super power in the Indian Ocean, and since 1890 had established a protectorate on the island of Zanzibar. The Royal Navy was asked to evict the usurper. On August 27, three warships opened fire. In 45 minutes, they reduced the Palace to rubble, and deposed him. The bombardment has since been called the "Shortest War in History".

But wait just a darn minute. The war can start without an announcement on CNN, can it?

Why are you getting down on France and Germany? Don't you know that both France and Germany have proved repeatedly that they will always be there when they need us? :-)

If I was Saddam, I'd be looking for the deepest hole in Iraq.My guess.......even the hole would reject him. Nowhere to run; nowhere to hide.

"The Central Command announcement said that the jets used precision guided weapons 'to target an Iraqi military surface-to-surface missile system' near Basra, about 245 miles southeast of the capital, Baghdad. Lowell said all aircraft departed the area safely and target damage was being studied"Surly CentCom 'lied'. It was a baby milk factory staffed entirely by crippled widows with yound children. We will learn from Saddam that all the crippled widows and their young children, who were in the new, modern day care center built by his generousness and attached to the baby milk factory, were killed by the EEEEVEEEEL Americans...along with a coupla dozen drooling human shields.

Thank You. Everything I know of British history can be summed up in 3 words:
Triumph, Norton and BSA.
