Can some one explain what a "zot" is and why we have them?
Any time material is censored because it is beyond some subjective standard, others will claim that a posting with which they disagree is at least as offensive as that which was zapped.
This place belongs to FR and the admin controlers, but if you allow one person to slap the sides of his head with his hands and screech, "I'm offended" to have something stricken, it is the same as the lefties.
I have occassionally had some thing that I posted removed arbitrarily (several years back when another reader felt that I had likened Buchanan followers to Nazis) and never understood how a free speech site could do that.
How offensive could what was posted be and why would we be afraid that any one read it?

Most of what I've seen that qualified for a ZOT was a vanity rant from some crack head, tofu eating, tree bark chewing liberal.

Threads aren't always pulled because they're offensive but because they're a waste of bandwidth. Much like this thread is.

Zots do not happen because of the material. Zots happen because of who posted the material, namely a returning banned poster who tried to sign up a new account to get around the ban.
