I tuned out when they called it a sport. Someone walking a dog in a circle doesn't fit my criteria for sport.
If you can't time it on a clock, measure it in inches or pounds, or keep score on points scored by the participants, then it ain't a sport.
What that silly thing they do in the olypics now where a pixie girl twirls crepe paper and does the splits? Sport?.......bwahahahahahahah!!
I remember watching Westminster several years ago. A rather 'large' woman was running her dog for the judge (remember -on camera, front and center, national live television). Whump! Flat on her face (the woman, not the dog).
We laughed probably for about 20 minutes straight. The kind of laughs where you will stop laughing and have a straight face only to break out in hysterical laughter about 15 seconds later.
Oh, was that funny!
Yes, there is ~some~ athletic skill required for Dog Showing.
