Do you have dog breeders in your families? I do; "Best in Show" was spot-on.
Most of the people I've met at dog shows are more or less normal, but the incidence of nuts, fruits, and flakes seems a bit higher than in the population at large.

The woman on the NY Times commercials (you know, "the only thing better than doing the crossword is actually finishing) reminds me of the Parker Posey character.

I agree. I think it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and even bought the DVD.

Yes but, it was a classic example of a movie that could have been just as funny without the sexual crudeness that so defines our age. I just find "doggie style" jokes and the rest so adolescent I can't enjoy the movies, TV shows, radio shows, advertisements that are so filled with them.
