The day of the announcement that the U.S. is quitting the UN and the building to be razed into a parking lot will be reminiscent of the Berlin Wall coming down...
I picture the waving of American flags, people running around with as many bricks as they could hold, and a giant weenie roast at an anticipated FReeper Bar-B-Q by the crane and wrecking ball to commemorate such a glorious occassion.

The day of the announcement that the U.S. is quitting the UN and the building to be razed into a parking lot... My plan for UN HQ:
- Secretariat Building -- Auction off for condos (except lower floors, see below).
- UN Library -- Becomes part of New York Public Library.
- The "talking shop" building and lower floors of the Secretariat -- Museum of Communism (along the lines of the Holocaust Museum). Also houses an art museum to display the current UN collection. The gift shop and restaurant become concessions.
- The park and sculpture garden -- Left as is. Part of the museum, but no admission charge. A good place for a park. Could be run by the Parks Department or by the museum.

and a giant weenie roast at an anticipated FReeper Bar-B-Q Make it a fish-fry, you can catch plenty right in the 'back yard'(don't worry about the heath warnings they are way overblown).
"Starting in October New York Harbor is red hot. We consistently get trophy bass every year casting large deceivers at the stanchions of the Veranzano Bridge. Up the Harbor the fishing is great also with tons of structure, deep channels surrounding mud flats and rocks galore. Try catching a 17 bluefish under the shadow of the UN building!!! Pretty cool!!!!
