Re: pot should be legal.

Funny comment! Pot is and has been illigal for a looong time and should stay that way. More addiction isn't a good thing.

More addiction isn't a good thing.

Then we should ban alcohol, which is much more addictive than marijuana (according to Institute of Medicine figures).

Yeah imprisonment and anal raqpe seem like a punishment commensurate with the crime. The crime being he spent his money on unregulated stuff instead of BUD or MO.

Never, ever think you can outrun the long arm of the dollar.

Slavery was legal for a long time. Apparently people at one time thought that less freedom was a good thing.

It hasn't been all that long, for those with any sense of historical time frames.

It is worthwhile for self-proclaimed "conservatives" to consider the fact that in 1919, Congress and the nation thought it necessary to pass a Constitutional Amendment to ban alcoholic beverages. Most of the drug laws didn't come around until the late-30's, 40's, and 50's, and all the sudden, need for a Constitutional Amendment was not needed.

Before the War on Drugs was forced upon the American people...something around 2% of the American citizenry regularly (that being addicted) used drugs. That number is still around 2%. We certainly have gotten our tax money's worth. At least legalizing it will take away the huge black market profit margins. People who want drugs will always...ALWAYS...be able to get them.
