That is a great poem.

I've always said it's not the gear, it's in the hands.

"Best part about it is that it's a working instrument which pays you a check every week or so, eh? {g}"

I've never been a collector. If I can't make money with it, I don't own it.

"Then again, this Lady's not only a "Master" in her own right, but she's almost always right to boot."

That's frightening! ;)

The Doug Grey MTB still plays a club on Long Island every year, but I can't bring myself to see them.

I have yet to hear the Eels, but this is not the first time I have heard about them. Address on the way.

"That is a great poem."

I agree. I thought so, too.

"I've always said it's not the gear, it's in the hands."

Yup.
Seems like common sense; but, common sense ain't so common anymore either, eh? (~little John Prine, there. {g} )

>Then again, this Lady's not only a "Master" in her own right, but she's almost always right to boot.<
"That's frightening!"

Nawwww.
I've found such a magnificent mind's nothing to fear, a'tall.
Quite the opposite in fact, as her's is really quite inspirational in a strangely quiet & controlled kind of way.
I'd even say its been a saving grace, at times.
The epitome of sobriety, stability, & faith all rolled into one package.
Yea, everything I'm *not*.
Quite refreshing, indeed. ;^)

"The Doug Grey MTB still plays a club on Long Island every year, but I can't bring myself to see them."

Your musician's sixth sense, sounds like to me.
Keep listening to it. {g}
There's been a LOT of very hard feelings over what Grey as done.
All the hard feelings are rooted in the disposition of the orig group's recordings amoung the surviving members &/or estates of the deceased members.
Supposedly Grey feels the old stuff would encroach on the "new" group's work so he won't give his blessings -- according to contractual agreement -- for the release of that old material.
Those other people would like to skin this guy alive, from what I've been able to gleen from the scuttlebutt.
Which explains *why* there isn't ANY video footage of the original group in concert made available for purchase to the general public.
In that sense, I guess you might as well add me to the list of skinners, then.

"I have yet to hear the Eels, but this is not the first time I have heard about them. Address on the way."

Got it.
Gimme a couple of days to spool ya up some of these guys; &, whatever else I feel you might enjoy.
Keep in mind the eels only success was their first CD; because, after that they lost a key member.
Looks to me like these youngsters couldn't handle the success.
Just speculation based on their subsequent recordings -- as so oftn is the case -- being totally devoid of the magic they generated, I felt was the direct result of their chemistry.

As for any other stuff I add?
Just remember what I send would've been produced during some very different, turbulent times.
What's "Liberal" today, wouldn't have been (considered) Liberal, then; although, there're plenty of fools who'd insist otherwise. OK??
I think of this music as, "radical."
In a very "Libertarian" kind of way? ~oy vey~

Just listen to the lyrical *messages* that're embedded witin the spectacularly performed instrumentation & let it go from there.

...& now, to contemplate what exactly to send.
