The judge in the trial is going to be asked to rule on the admissibility of a variety of pieces of evidence. The alleged confession is one such piece. He will make a ruling. It's entirely possible that the judge will toss it out because there is not, so far, anything that makes the confession believable - to wit: Nothing in it that had not been published earlier, and in the very same newspaper you and your fellow reporter worked.

"Believability" is not a requirement for a confession to be admitted into evidence. The jury gets to decide if it's believable or not. Admissibility is determined chiefly by the issue of voluntariness.

Yes, voluntariness, the 4th amendment, and sanity. To this point the whole situation is unbelievable.

It seems to me, however, that there are a whole big bunch of Freepers who want to believe Atomic Dog's supposed confession without further consideration.
