Sorry, but that's one thing Clinton can't be blamed for. 'Politics' became a routine factor in foreign policy during Vietnam. It has never stopped being one.

the principle Cicero is talking about is that if you are a politician you don't take swipes at an opposing administration (even one you despise) while you are overseas. At least as far as Republicans are concerned, that principle still holds.
