I really have no idea why x42 is not being prosecuted. He certainly has been implicated in a lot of very, very bad stuff. However, being implicated is not the same as being able to prove.

These people have basically killed off most of the people who could testify against them. If they are capable of that, then covering up a crime is a piece of cake. I'm not in any doubt of their guilt - but proving it is another whole ballgame.

"...being implicated is not the same as being able to prove."

Any good detective would tell us that you've gotta squeeze witnesses with lesser crimes and then work yer way up to the Criminal Kingpins, and I don't see any evidence that Ashcroft is willing to do this. In fact, Ashcroft's willingness to let Global Crossing's Gary Winnick off the hook in a Christmas Eve announcement was the last straw for me and I now believe Justice is Impossible as long as the gutless and gun-shy Statesman Ashcroft is the Attorney General, no progress will be made!!

Rudy Guiliani fer Attorney General...NOW!!!

FReegards...MUD

"Bush sees prosecuting the clintons as demeaning to the office."

Bubba's already demeaned the office...and Dubyuh will compound the damage if he doesn't hold the Clintonoids accountable!!

"I do see a scenario for prosecution, however. Bush will determine that post-9/11, the clintons' effort to retake the white house constitutes a clear and present danger."

Dubyuh can only accomplish this worthy goal if he forces Ashcroft to RESIGN!!

IMHO...MUD

Thx.

What I posted is a theory, a hypothesis, CONJECTURE,supported by the known facts of the case. Calling it "a lie" exposes an ignorance of logic.

What I did say I was virtually certain of, however, is that the clintons left office with plenty of ammo on anyone in the next administration who could do them harm. This view is based on clinton M.O., clinton ruthlessness and Filegate.

One of the first things I learned about President Bush is that he plays his cards close to his chest.

Which means, that he doesn't tell his enemies what his plans are. He used this method repeatedly during the campaign, and especially during the aftermath; which totally frustrated Gore because Gore couldn't figure out what Bush was going to do. Gore was used to the dem method which is to threaten to do certain things. Bush never did that - Bush kept his mouth shut and did what he knew the law entitled him to do.

We have no way of knowing if all kinds of investigations are in play - why ...?? because you don't tell the crooks you are looking at them and their activities. I know this makes it hard on us law and order people - but that's just the way it is. The DOJ is not required to keep us informed about what they're investigating.

x42, however, did tell what he was going to do; all the time. I finally figured out it was some sort of warning sign his people would put out there, to allow the crooks to cover their trail enough that no evidence could be found - or Reno would claim she was already invesgating and that would close any other investigation.

I have been waiting for McAwful to be indicted - maybe the word is - hoping. I think going after him is much more important.

And ... I definitely don't agree with you about Ashcroft.

Amazingly, my less-than-stellar opinion of John Ashcroft is not shared by all I FReep with, but I'll keep on trying to convince y'all Ashcroft's the wrong man for the job, becuz I most certainly believe his appointment as Attorney General was a huge mistake.
