Completely wrong. Show any evidences instead of lousy speculations.

Michael..I understand your biases and as I stated in a previous post, I have always considered the Germans to be a proud and industrious people. That's why it's so perplexing to me that they are acting as they are.

Now the French..that's another deal altogether. They have always been ...well, you can fill in the blanks.

If I am wrong, and I'm wrong a lot, maybe you could help me out with your wisdom on the subject:

1..Why is the German government acting as it does?

2..Since it's a commonly held belief that German and French fingerprints will be all over the WMD's that are eventually found, what can you direct me to that would disprove that belief...other than your emphatic denial.

1. The German government is in trouble, and was in trouble last year. It was tradition to make no election campaigns with foreign policy, nearly all parties agreed on the governments foreign policy. But last year, Schröder wanted to become reelected - he had luck and Iraq was a interesting topic, the floodings too. He successfully diverted from his failed economy policy and narrowly won the election. Now, he has broken many promises during the last four years, so he won´t and can´t break that one "Germany will not be engaged in a war against Iraq".
In addition, his party and the Greens have many peace activists, so many Germans oppose a war - he´s riding on the wave of the public opinio, while the opposition declared solidarity with America and wishs to support the States. Nevertheless, it doesn´t help Schröder, his approval rate is on the lowest point ever - if he´d break that last promise, his coalition (only 4 members majority in parliament) would break. So he has no alternative if he wants to stay in office. Hope you´ll see why Germany opposes the war. I cannot speak for France.

2. Well, not only German or French fingerprints are found, British and US firms delivered to Saddam as well as I could read here on FR. You also could read that our attorneys charged several businessmen for selling material to Saddam Hussein - we´re determined to get them in prison for their crimes.

Sorry, my last post to you was a bit too aggressive.
