Tell her she is not alone. My 18 year old daughter just proceeded to join the Miami Dade Christian Coalition and has embarked in one of its new endeavors. She is currently recruiting other high school bible club members who wish to work in mostly republican politician's offices in order to advance the conservative agenda.

She is completing her senior year in high school and is one of the leaders in her school bible club. She also takes a lot of crap from other liberal kids in her classes but has learned how to stand on principle and truth.

Just for information, she is, as we speak, involved with the coalition on a problem that involves her rights regarding the club and the schools infringement on those rights. The plot thickens.

Tell your daughter we are definitely proud and she is not alone. Many other young people across America are also fighting for freedom and our God given rights.

Oh and by the way, she just registered as a republican and her first vote was for Jeb, our great governor.

This may be referring to being able to physically compromise "closed" systems that use fiber optic or other mediums. Certainly a fusion splicer could be used to accomplish part of the process of tapping into a fiber optic, and the good thing is they are smaller and more reliable than ever. Once that is done, if certain equipment operates at say, 1310nm, perhaps a light source at a different wavelength being introduced or some such other anomaly could prove interesting. Sometimes severing such a distribution system is not as disruptive as other options available.

Well, they are at least true to form! They fight like every other liberal/rat I've ever seen: no facts, just personal attacks.

GO KELLI! You're the smart one, they're ignorant. If they have to resort to "you're stupid" as their best, valid argument, you know you've got them backed into a corner. Make them back up every single solitary statement with absolute fact, and you be prepared to do the same. I'd bet money you'd last a heck of a lot longer than they do. Best of luck.

Would you like to be added to my left wing college ping list? Its slowly but surely turning into a resource for those in college to help them get through the left wing experience.

I didn't realise there was that much in Iraq to hack. Still, we could stop Saddam from downloading goat porn, I imagine.

"Tell her not to go to the Oprah message boards. I almost had a seizure over there. I was embarassed to be a woman!"

Oprah should stick to diet advice and heart-felt books. Watch Monday's show and see people who have lost like 120 lbs.--that is oprah at her best

Some things don't change. I had similar problems in college in 1975. My humanities TA was a cute, blonde babe from France. The prof was as "middle of the road" as a Frenchman can be. I had to write a paper on the position of women in a Marxist society. The TA was a flaming commie. She disagreed with my premises and awarded me a C on the paper. I took the paper to the prof. He read it top to bottom. He said, "This is definitely not a C paper". It was returned to me with an A.

Life doesn't always work out that well, but standing up for your convictions is important. Kudos to your daughter. It was a character building exercise.

"I admit, at first, it can be frustrating having people disagree with you since you want to fit in."

The desire to "fit in" needs careful thought. Why would a person wish to fit in with folks, who hold strongly to poorly supported beliefs?

In other words, why does one seek their friendship and approval? Wouldn't it be better to find folks with values like your own?

I served when drafted, during Viet Nam. My view at age 20 was that the war was wrong, but I truly relied on my elders, who said it was right to serve, personal views aside.

I continued to believe the war was wrong, for a few more years (but never demonstrated, never lost my patriotism for my country).

Later I came to realize that that war, poorly fought by us, was just, in the face of a truly evil world communist threat. I now view it as a "hot" battle lost, in a longer "cold" war against communism.

That cold war is still worth fighting, even should it have "hot" battles. We have mostly avoided ot battles, through showing strength and resolve to not allow communist military expansion.

Today's tie died peaceniks are mostly simply nostalgic, looking for attention, showing youthful rebellion. The liberal "educators" are beyond redemption.

Polls show that about 70% of Americans favor action against Saddam's regime of terror. Your daughter is in a majority, even though the campuses are chocked full of mindless "anti-war" fervor.

War is not an ideal solution, but ideal solutions are rarely available, and less often agreed to.

For the idealists, even though they don't recognize it, the world will be more peaceful, by stopping Saddam.

Ask the families of murdered Kurds and Shiites in Iraq, if Saddam should be stopped? Ask the families of dead Iranians, if Iraq should continue to maintain illegal WMD?

Forget about muslim rulers. Ask the citizens, if they yearn for life, whereby they could openly say: "Stop Saddam now."

Sounds like your daughter could use a little support. I'm sure that Freepers wouldn't mind e-mailing her encouraging her to hold-fast.(?)

Tell your daughter that she's our FR heroine for the day.

Name calling is the resort of the ignorant.

She'll have her class eating crow in about two months time when Iraq is liberated and the truth about Saddam's depravities and crimes against his people is exposed.

She'll rule the roost then, and they can eat the newspapers.

THAT is going to be one fine day! I told her this. Just bide your time, you will be the one in the catbird seat soon enough.

I'm going to show her this thread. After talking it out with her dad and I and reading the encouragement here, she'll be anxious to get back in the fight on Monday morning!
