What the heck is that? Hi-res my butt, looks more like a thermal image than RGB. That is what hi-res looks like when the object being imaged is more than 200,000 feet up above you. If you are thinking you have seen a better close-up photo somewhere of the re-entering shuttle, then you are mistaken. This is as good as it gets.

That looks like a two-pixel distortion.
