Might I interject? The invasion of Iraq will begin when the last French invoice for nerve agents has been shredded by Saddam's toadies. (in the opinion of Oliver North, and I'm inclined to believe him.)
The French conscience is below American radar -- hard to read. The French were knowingly and openly complicit in the export of Jews to German death camps, and even formed their own domestic units to do the job. (Something they pretend they don't know.)
The French probably don't need America. After all, their GNP can be made by consorting with 3rd World despots. And they're very good about wiping the blood off their hands.
