I believe Russert's assertion that George H. W. had 75% approval from the American public before the Persian Gulf war is a fabrication.

Doesn't fit with my recollection either. I think the support grew after the invasion.

Can someone please tell me why I keep hearing today that polls show a majority of Americans AGAINST war with Iraq? Both Neal Boortz and Larry King (opposites) plainly stated that polls shows Americans against action - that is not what I have seen/heard in virtually every poll. Please clarify for me if you can, thanks.
