A lady I know (a LEO) said pretty much the same thing. She also noted that it's a basically incurable obsession with them. They can never be trusted.

I have the pleasure of always knowing that I put several child pornographers/molesters in prison personally. I was one of a small group of folks who went after these guys 10 years ago before law enforcement was able to really investigate online activity. After that I spent years lecturing and teaching investigative courses about pedophilia on the Internet.
