Last fall's siege of the Dubrovka theater by armed Chechens sparked much debate on how the attack could have been prevented. A new organization believes it has the answer: Let the population arm itself.

"If we want our society to be democratic, this is one of the rights we have to have," said Andrei Nasomov, a supporter of the arms union and an advocate for the rights of small business The essence of liberty. Will not sit well with the old Bolsheviks still hanging around the Interior Ministry and the FSB.

Vedenov said those lobbying for the right to carry arms are doing so in the interest of gunmakers.
I don't think I've heard that one before...

A few years back I remember reading about Kalashnakov, the famous Russian gun designer. The article covered many of his developments as well as his opinions. He espoused gun ownership for everyone. The need for people to protect themselves from criminals as well as governments.
By contrast, Shumer, Boxer, Fienstein, Kennedy and the Hollywood elite gun grabbers were in full attack in their attempt to disarm Americans. It was surreal. The world appeared upside down. The former Soviet military rifle designer championing the essence of our Second Amendment, while our elected Congressthings were promoting government control over our lives.

They always said they would take us over peacefully, from within.

One of the few disappointments during my last vacation overseas was my visit to Vladivostok. While on an organized tour the bus passed a gun shop downtown called "Sniper" spelled out in the Russian alphabet.
Due to an incident on the tour I did not get a chance to return on foot to visit the store. Just imagine the fuss from the anti-gunners if a gun store in the US chose the name "Sniper".
