Now his grandparents supported integration of the schools in the 50's. Which grandparents were these? Virginia's folks? Bill Blythe's folks? Or his real father(whoever that was)'s folks?

Believe me, somebody somewhere is checking that little "factoid" right this minute.

I believe it's Virginia's father .. remember, Bill lived with his grandparents for a few years .. his grandfather had a store and Bill claims he grew up around blacks and how they use to come to his Granfathers store all the time

I have read other stories about his grandfather also .. so I'm not sure what all is true or not

That must be why he used to take walks in Harlem when he was between semesters at Oxford.
