I just don't get the Bush style.
Why did he come out and speak? We are looking like bluffers, clinging to the unrealistic hope of Hussein being intimidated into leaving on his own, and waiting for another UN resolution.
We should withdraw 1/2 our troops and now (actually we should've started 12-15 months ago) start bombing the crap out of all the presidential palaces, and keep bombing them for weeks.
And should keep our troops as far away from Iraq as possible -- at some neighboring airfields and on the carriers. And never set foot in the f-ing place.
If another maniac takes over from Hussein, and starts fooling around with WMD, then we strike again.
That's what you do if you are serious, and putting America first.

My guess is we don't quite have all the forces there that we want to take Iraq apart piece by piece, but will by the end of this month.

You really don't get the Bush style, do you? He does the same thing, whether dealing with Congress, the twins, or Afghanistan.
He gives multiple chances to do the right thing. He is not bluffing. When time is up, it's up.
This is not a bluff. It is a notice to the UN that we are going in soon (101st Airborne got orders to deploy today) and they have one chance to get on board.
Time's up. The game is over.
And, by the way, we couldn't have started bombing 12 months ago. We were low on munitions due to using them up in Afghanistan. Why didn't we have more? Ask Clinton on LKL tonight.

I just don't get the Bush style. Why did he come out and speak? The Bush style is straightforward and convincing. Every time he gives a speech, even a short one, support for him and for bombing Iraq increases by several percentage points. He challenged the stupid UN today in no uncertain terms, naming stupid France and other holdout countries. IF the UN fails to act now, many people will realize how irrelevant they really are. All to the good. The world will hate us less if the UN supports bombing and will understand better if we are forced to go in without their "support." I think he made that "perfectly clear."

I just don't get the Bush style. What part of "Don't Mess with Texas" don't you understand? That was no bluff.

Lobbing some bombs is the Clinton approach and it never works.
