Tellya what, SY, I think in the same direction. Listening to Daschle and some of these trophies, I have thought more than once, "Okay, so remind me here: the difference between this and treason is...?"

I'm sure there may well be a difference... but it's growing hard to see.

I was opposed to our intervention in Kosovo for a political reason: I thought Bill Clinton was allowing the United Nations to lead our military, and I thought that was a mistake. But I only voiced that opposition a handful of times and only to my wife while we watched the news.

Stephen Decatur, the hero of the Tripolitan War (or as I like to call it, the first war on terror) used to make a toast that went something like: "To my country, in her intercourse with foreign nations may she always be right, but my country, right or wrong."

Political disagreements are fine within the borders, but once a course is set and war seems inevitable - my country right or wrong. When the boots hit the ground in Kosovo, the only thing I said about it was: "Let's get the job done and get the hell out."
