If so, then that evidence has been tampered with and the cases might get dissmised.

I wouldn't doubt at all that this freak was pilfering from the Statey's evidence locker.

Only if its evidence from an ongoing or present case. What do you think happens to the evidence from cases that get tried and come to a close?
