I read "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich"

I've never read it, I'll have to put it on my long list of books to get around to. John Toland's biography of Hitler is an excellent read, I've read that one through several times. Gave my copy away, now wish I hadn't.

I don't think you will regret the time spent. William Shirer was of a generation of intellectually honest liberals who are pretty much extinct today. He did not hesitate to point out that the early Nazi movement was composed of the 'bohemians', misfits, societal rejects, perverts and losers of its day, which gives me sober thoughts when I look at the wastes of skin presently marching in the streets.
