Schumer apparently uses some "professor Bender" as a critic of Estrada. PROFESSOR BENDER's claim to fame is as a FOLK HERO FOR CHILD PORNO AFFICIANADOS! Hatch goes through the history of Bender's work on behalf of those convicted and in defense of Child Porn.

As I said, Schumer is finished. He has made a fatal error opposing Estrada in such a nasty, personal way. And now Orrin Hatch has revealed that Bender, Schumer's chief source for criticism of Miguel Estrada, is nothing but an advocate for legalizing child pornography. This is a bombshell. I can't wait until Schumer takes the floor again.

Works for me! Some of Rudy's politics aside, he is untouchable these days and will help the ticket, not hurt it.

I think there has to be some behind the scenes reasons the GOP is deep in the heart of liberal territory in NYC. The things I think are Rudy or Gen Powell joining the ticket (both NYers) - I don't think Cheney stays on the ticket and indeed, nobody seems to know where he is now!

I see the NY angle playing big in the convention. Pataki taking a shot at Schumer along Dubya/Rudy coattails is the best opportunity to win all around.

Hillary is Senator for life, sorry to report. Pataki knows this and Schumer is far more vulnerable. This allows a Lt Gov 2 years to build a record and run for Gov as a Republican incumbent.

I concur....Rudy's way tooo pro-NARAL for the national ticket...it'll never fly...but with the GOP convention in NYC, a few miles from Ground Zero, after W has just deposed Saddam..well, it means that a ticket in NY state headed by Bush with Rudy for the Senate...it means that Chuckie's toast, and that NY State is in play..and there is absolutely NO way that the Dems can win the WH without NY..so, in a sense..the 2004 could be over soon..
