Funny thing is, I agree 100% with what he just saidIf "experiment" implies that God could be surprised or proven wrong by how His "noble experiment" turns out, it's a poor choice of words, at best.
That would make about as much sense as what the Episcopal church minister said while Dubya was in attendance last Sunday morning. "God's heart is more heartbroken than our own," said the Rev. Luis Leon. Pardon me if I'm misinterpreting him but, it sounds to me like he's saying God was helpless to do anything to prevent the Columbia incident.
