A friend told me how he realized that his department had gone totally insane for
political correctness.

The first time the departmental Thanksgiving/XMAS party became a "Holiday Celebration"
and totally vegetarian (no turkey, no ham).

And this was at the major state "U" in a modestly conservative "border" state...
(in the Big Twelve).

Oh, and this was in a department in the physical sciences...not in some traditionally
leftist academic discipline.
