Kennedy on now. Soounds like he's about ready to stroke out. Wants to know the cost in lives, refugees etc. Says American people want to hear from President on these issues.
Honestly, he sounds panicked.

Of course she's irrelevant, but she's also a face of the dem party...and every time she opens her mouth, it helps the GOP....tke a look at the Dem seniority list in the House, and cross-reference it to the Black Caucus...pretty soon, the CBC will have the ranking member spots of most House committees, especially as a few guys like Lantos and Waxman will retire soon, as they don't look forward to years in the minority....and that they will be the face, and the ideology of the House.....then think Maxine for minority leader......oh happy days...

Teddy: I would hope the President would come to the nation and explain (hasn't he done that). And that we won't see an expansion and explosion of troops for AQ because of this action. (How can we know that). Lots of questions. Listen in. What is the human cost of civilian casualities loosened on Bagdad? There won't be a single shelter in Bagdad, according to the military. What will happen to the refugees and to hcildren and non-combatants. All of these matters are of concern to the American people and the American people want to hear from the president on these issues before we send troops into harms way. Question from reporter: What was impression of Powell's testimony? Teddy: Part of that we had had previously in intelligence briefings and I would hope the intelligence committees would be able to examine this information. THought Powell made a strong case, gives him credit. Saddam is dangerous the real possibilities of their having these WMD are real but we have to make the judgement before committing troops that the queston isn't disarming but the best way to do it. (MY answer - bomb the **** out of them). Says the administration still hasn't answered many questoins.

He does seem extremely nervous. Most American's support this war and the Dems took the wrong side (again) on this issue.

Teddy: We've always known AQ had contact with Iraq. Someone didn't send the memo to the rest of the democratic party.

Apparently he is in "what do you do when your bluff has been called" mode.

If UN gets a second resolution will that change Teddy's mind (reporter asks). Teddy: Most concerned for American people. Need to work through the UN. VERY worried about N. Korea. The questions he raised are still outstanding, he says. The American people want to know how we're going to get out, once we get in there, how many troops we'll lose (repeating himself).

Kennedy is basically moving from the "prove Iraq has WMDs" argument because thats open and shut. The LW kooks are down to the exit strategy/what is the human cost argument. It's all they have left.

Nancy Soderburg...Clinton gal from his state department is on MSNBC saying there's a small chance the other Middle Eastern countries in the Security Council, might use the next few months to go to Saddam and warn him that they better clean up their acts.
"Next few months????" She's dreaming! (probably of Bill) hahahh
MSNBC cuts in just as Teddy is finishing up his statement, and Bill Press says he thinks Teddy Kennedy may be the only democrat senator left standing against the war. (Does this guy know what he's talking about? I must have missed something.)

Shep on Fox: Pelosi gave a statement a short time ago that war is not the answer; she's not convinced. Unbelievable.

For those demwits wanting a SECOND UN resolution: What part of Res. 1441 stating this was Hussein's last chance to come clean do they NOT understand?

Daschle on now. Talking about judicial appointments? There are no words. After a historic presentation by Powell, this is what he's talking about. Estrada not the man for this appointment, yada yada. Daschle's timing is lousy, as usual. WHo cares about this today (besides Daschle)?

My bet is they've never even read the resolution, let alone understand it. Given the questions and "concerns" they keep expressing, they certainly don't get that Iraq has/had something to prove, not the other way around. LOL.

NBC reporter from London, reports on MSNBC that a television poll there is showing overwhelming support for Powell's argument. He says most people are still at work but will hear reports on the speech later in the day, and the commentators there are calling the speech, compelling, overwhelming, etc.
