Mt. Rushmore is actually a finished work by a specific sculptor. It cannot be expanded, IMHO. It reflects, in grand scale, the ideology of its sculptor.Memorials to Reagan--such as the nuclear aircraft carrier named for him--are greatly to be desired. But indeed, the books and web sites which tell future generations about how Reagan transcended Communism, whipped inflation, got the country going again, and ended the Energy Crisis are what is really important.
And when will the media get around to calling the airport in Washington "Reagan National?" We don't call JFK "Idlewilde" anymore.
