Shook his hand as he trooped the line at a Joint Staff Christmas party in about 1990. Very imposing indeed. He seemed like the largest person there.

Colin Powell and his family lived across the street from my parents in the late 70's. He and my dad used to chat while doing yardwork. I doubt if he still cuts his own grass now :)
