HOme and AMerican fries are sliced potatoes lovingly fried in bacon or butter here. FR fries are those long thin strips of spud dripping in grease, that come with burgers and pop at the carry out window.

Homefries aren't the same. That name's already taken. American fries is good. I'll vote for that one.
