Good analysis re: Bush I and the "end" of Desert Storm. I do believe that Bush I has since admitted that it was a mistake to have let Saddamn and his regime continue. The past twelve years has not been encouraging...at least as far as having others (ie: an internal revolution, the Arab world, etc.) take care of the problem, let alone contain the creep from violating the cease-fire agreement over and over again.

Re: Bush I - I am repeating what I heard HIM say about 10 days ago. His exact words were, "I don't like mission creep", the deal with the coalition was to get Iraq out of Kuwait, and he signed off on the deal. He said it was a matter of honor that we not go to Baghdad. In retrospect he wishes things could have been done differently. I'm sure he does. I think Bush I is a very honorable man, who made the deal with the coalition, and honored the deal.

The same media pundit geniuses who were screaming at us to back off - remember the unending Highway of Death scenes - are now the quickest to blame Bush I for "failing" to finish the job in Iraq. I loathe them for their dishonesty.
