twyh1, I think it is VERY interesting that DU and the Iraqis are using the word "cartoons." That is not normally a word that would be used by the Iraqis. The coincidence is too remarkable to ignore.
Perhaps some who monitor DU would be kind enough to note any similar phrases and bring them to our attention, without, of course, using direct quotes or links.
I think there are Iraqis and Iraqi sympathizers in that group, as well as a lot of the anti-war groups that have suddenly popped up.

Agree on the word "cartoon" -- when I heard it , "DU" popped right into my head

The denizens of that site are ready-made useful idiots, and it would be very surprising if Iraqi intelligence (and others) aren't in there stirring the pot.

RE: Toons and fabrication and other conspiracy stuff being spouted...why even bother? We can't combat people who are easily convinced the moon landing was faked, nor do we need to. This is the expected reaction from them. It's more a pathetic flailing, actually...
Or are you suggesting that possibly there are actual Iraqi trolls who lurk at "that site" and others in order to be able to immediately spin...? High-tech propaganda wars? That's an interesting idea and worthy of merit...although I do repeat that one actually risks damaging one's credibility by even bothering to address the "They Faked it ALL!" argument.
