US Response: If P.M. Chirac choose to believe the word of Saddam Hussein, their enemy in the Gulf War, over the word of the United States, their NATO ally and ally in WWII, WWI and the Revolutionary War, then so be it. We have their measure. We will not endanger our intelligence sources by betraying them to a government that has shown itself to have no integrity or loyalty.
