In a day filled with emotions, tributes, and tears, President Bush and First Lady Laura attended the memorial service for the astronauts whose lives were lost in the space shuttle Columbia tragedy on Saturday. The President spoke to the crowd of at least 10,000 teary eyed mourners, and eulogized the Columbia crew. In the closing moments of his speech, Bush spoke to the children of the crew by saying, 'And to the children who miss your Mom or Dad so much today, you need to know, they love you, and that love will always be with you. They were proud of you. And you can be proud of them for the rest of your life.' The First Couple returned to Washington this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: The final days of their own lives were spent looking down upon this Earth. And now, on every continent, in every land they could see, the names of these astronauts are known and remembered. They will always have an honored place in the memory of this country. And today I offer the respect and gratitude of the people of the United States.
President Bush spoke so eloquently today, that it was very difficult to pick a quote. After reading his remarks and seeing the photos, I couldn't help but get emotional once again thinking about what a wonderful and great man we have as our leader. So, for the first time on the Dose, I am going to break tradition and post a photo that I think speaks for all of us.

Just watched the rebroadcast and am still crying. This ceremony and the Wellstone one are like night and day. This one: beautiful, touching, sincere, graceful, and oh, so sad, yet uplifting. Thank God for President Bush.

I was so afraid that he wasn't going to make it through....something his enemies would love to use against him.

Praise God for this President! What a moving service today, and beautiful words from our Godly President!
To all: Eric is leaving for Ft. Campbell Monday in preparation for mobilization. He'll be home for part of 5 days before he goes. Thank you for your prayers....
When he told me, I said, "You're in God's hands", and he flashed me a beautiful grin and said "I got peace like a river!"

I just watched the re-run on C-SPAN, although I watched it earlier today. President Bush is a good and great man. His speech was excellent and you could tell he spoke from the heart. God bless him.
