I agree. Both designs are awful. They need to either rebuild the Towers as they were or come up with something relatively similar. Those mesh structures resemble amusement park rides.

Here is a photo of the concept. Definitely the direction to go. Call the NYC LMDC and tell them to ashcan the two current considerations.

I think the Memorial Circle is delightfully overwrought and gigantically stonehengian. It gets my vote.

Both towers would be the world’s tallest structure.

I don't see how the 1776 foot spire is a contender for this designation.
