Ivan...day in, day out, I listen to anti-American sentiment, and people telling me 'it's all about the oil', or the US 'propped up Saddam in the past'...etc. etc. et al, ad nauseum.

And I've also listened to people talk about the 'innocents who will die' as a result of a war.

But NOT one. Not a single one has been able to reassure me that if Saddam had the capability (which he has tried so very much to obtain over the last 12 years) to kill, and maim everyone in the Western world he wouldn't do it.

I keep telling people 'YES, of COURSE there are going to be innocent, civilian casualties in this war'. But those casualties will be FAR lessened by a humane, democratic coalition going into Iraq, than the casualties at the hands of a MADMAN (or one of his sons) in the not too distant future.

Darling, they need to remember - America and Britain use precision weapons to hit military targets. Saddam uses a secret police to keep his boot on the neck of the people, and chemical weapons to gas masses indiscrimnately to instill more fear.

And that's the real difference. I don't recall Saddam going to the UN for authorisation to invade Iran or Kuwait for that matter.

Love, Ivan

"day in, day out, I listen to anti-American sentiment,"

Wow, just wondering what kind of place you work in.........don't answer.

I know we get in corners in our life, it has happened to me. But, it was my objective to get the heck out of it and I did. Litstening to this kind of spew day after day has to be a drag. Best of luck. Hey, eat some chocolate, it helps.
