The "Tree" wo;uld have stolen our liberties on a faster more brazen approach. The republicrats accomplish the same thing on a slower pace, piece meal, until we wake up some day and say, wha' happened?

Well....if giving up your freedom is inevitable, isn't slower better than faster?

I disagree. He might have TRIED, but at least the Republicans in Congress would have fought and OPPOSED the Tree.

If Tree tried to get us into the ICC, they would have strongly REJECTED it, just like they did when Slick tried it.

When the Tree tried to close the gun-show "loophole", the Republicans would have thwarted him, just like they did to Clinton.

When Tree tried to name homosexuals to federal posts, Congress would have nixed them, just like they did to Slick.

But when Bush tries to do the SAME THINGS, the "conservative Republicans" suddenly flip-flop and SUPPORT the same things they OPPOSED.

I don't know of anything except psychedelic drugs that cause such irrational, contradictory behavior.
