It really isn't a fillibuster unless some hapless sap takes the floor and begins to speak, without yielding and without stopping. I would truly enjoy hearing an actual fillibuster. All the silly crud and crap that the speaker would have to spew would be such tripe and trivia in these important days.

How stupid would the democrat mouthpiece look wasting valuable time debating with himself about the vagaries of cooking and gardening?

Uh-oh.

I agree. People aren't in the mood.....especially the Federal employees working at NASA today, and the entire military waiting for Mr. Powell's address.

Keep your eyes pealed for people carrying bags of stones.

FYI..that's not the case any more...the Senate rules were changed 20 years ago....now, a Senatore merely announces that he intends to filabuster......it places a "hold" on the bill, and starts the process of cloture to overcome it....there was an excellent thread posted here a few weeks ago....try a search under "filabuster".......regards..
