FYI..that's not the case any more...the Senate rules were changed 20 years ago....now, a Senatore merely announces that he intends to filabuster......it places a "hold" on the bill, and starts the process of cloture to overcome it....there was an excellent thread posted here a few weeks ago....try a search under "filabuster".......regards..

I've never been more excited to hear what Daschle has to say because I want to enjoy the "next new thing" with which the Dems hang themselves. Publically.

Re: racism;The libs will be shamed when a Republican ! nominates a Hispanic to the Supreme Court.

Odds are it won't be Estrada going to the DC circuit, then bumped to SC so soon, but it's coming. Who's the other Hispanic judge that's been named? Whomever, the party that preaches diversity but never practices it will again be seen as the frauds that they are.

Spot on....I saw the hearing on C-span....Hatch was most excellent. The Pubbies didn't respond to the rants of Leaky and Chuckie....they just voted....the Dems are in a quandry..they've demonized Pickering..vowed to get him...OTOH..Estrada could serve on the SC for 40 years....so you'd think he's the one they want to stop...maybe that's why the WH didn't send Pickering up first....because the Dems would pass him....THEN gang up on Estrada...and they could say they weren't opposed to all of Bush's judges..
