What else is incredible is that some people can't make up their minds what they believe and stick to it.
Sort of like Weebles.

It is conceit.
We just don't fail that often, so we expect to succeed every time.

Terrorism is a real possibility in one aspect...If a terrorist group had a computer hacker capable of passing the codes of the NASA flight computers so to change any one of hundreds of re-entry factors, it could have been done from the outside.

Impossible to get through to those who will not believe. They don't want to hear anything to the contrary.

It came from people trying to lay blame where they want it to go, where it's fashionable.
They can't think for themselves.
And they sure can't wait to hear the official results. That might contradict what THEY think!

Nobody but you says it was on fire over California.
And before you start, I just heard the "scientist" from Australia live on Fox; he did NOT say it was on fire.

Accident. That is what I am thinking too Luis. People are playing the blame game already before anyone even knows what happened. I don't believe NASA would have sent the shuttle up defective in the first place, or that they would ignore a real problem like the incident at launching if they knew it was dangerous.
Accidents do happen. It is terrible, but true.

Late last December (2001) I was coming home from Lynchburg, on 58 that goes across west to east the bottom of Virginia.
Late at night; out in the country, two lane road, hilly; I wasn't driving fast because you know on roads with driveway access you might come over a hill and somebody might be pulling out of a driveway.
I topped a hill, and as soon as I did, there were two hunting dogs in my lane just below the peak of the hill.
The second I saw them, I knew I couldn't avoid them. I hit and killed them both.
It was an ACCIDENT. Accidents happen. We don't need to beat it to death to figure that out.

Well we already know your not correct on this and won't even give an opinion for fear you will be wrong! You play it safe too much Howlin. For fear! Oh well we all know that already.
Truth is the problem began at re-entry and was in trouble in California and Arizona and Utah and broke up or exploded over Texas. That is the facts.

They don't want to hear anything to the contrary.I think people are just naturally impatient for explanations and too easily accept the first explanation that seems simple and "obvious". Over the years, however, I've had to troubleshoot a lot of factory equipment that was my responsibility as an engineer. Nothing as sophisticated and complex as the space shuttle, that's for sure. But complex enough to learn that the "obvious" problem was seldom the "real" problem.

You play it safe too much Howlin. For fear! As opposed to you who shoots your mouth off about things you know nothing about.
That is the facts.
You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you in the butt.

CNN has done a VERY GOOD job of showing other objects hitting the left wing during liftoff. The object they show is NOT the foam and it is white. The first thought is ice. Miles O'Brien (sp) has done an outstanding job of finding that out. Too bad NASA did not see it.
