"Stealing more of my money to toss at another failed project, without analyzing why it happened. "
Man you dense... The Space program (And Shuttles) have provided the US with invaluable technology that has saved 10's of thousands of American GI's !
I'm not gonna educate you but do some research before spouting off half cocked !

I know what has been provided, but we haven't figured out what went wrong, or if we want to go the same way (shuttle) as oppose to reusable hybrid air space craft, cheap rockets etc.
But the current occupant of the white house wants to use the liberal approach throw more mopney at it without figuring out what the real problem is.
Conversely if he knows this is what will solve the problem, why was the launch allowed to proceed?

The shuttle program IS A FAILURE. It meets none of the original specs. It doesn't lift enought, it takes too long to prep for launch, it takes too long to recycle between launches, it costs much more per launch than original projected and it doesn't come close to meeting the original saftey parms.
Other than that, the shuttle is a wonderful program.
We should build a new replacement space transport system.
