Tin foil hat on "High!"
Seriously, the possiblity that there were small parts already trailing the shuttle at that point is very real. Reentry is the most stressful point of any mission and if there was a structural failure the pictures should show what he says they do.

A very interesting shuttle tile is
Here.
I can only post on Geocities and have little bandwidth to post, so perhaps someone can post it for me.
I inverted the photo on my computer and the writing reads:
V070-1911
-076 (or G) MN00
With these numbers, the tile should be traced to its exact location. It came from Kerens, Texas, 65 miles SE of Dallas and another tile is in Rice, Texas, 45 miles S of Dallas on I-45. If these tile came from under the left wing, that would place its failure at the top of the debris field.

The pictures, taken with a Nikon 8 camera on a tripod, reveal what appear to be bright electrical phenomena flashing around the track of the shuttle's passage, but the photographer, who asked not to be identified, will not make them public immediately. What's the point of keeping the photos private? Anyway, I wonder if there is a way to know if the "lightning bolt" was going towards the Columbia or came from the Columbia itself. If it was an electrical discharge of some kind, it seems like it would have caused problems that would have been detected by sensors in the electrical system.

Right after Sunday's Nasa briefing, CNN showed very good pictures of what appears to be ice (not insulation), during lift-off, breaking off and hitting the left wing. It is very clear that many people in CA saw the first parts of the breakup. I wonder if anyone got videos of the break-up with their telescopes?

I've got mine on now!Every pilot knows about Static Electricity and aircraft but I'm thinking about the possibility mind you, only theorizing about a StarWars Type of Pulse Weapon capable of reaching to that altitude!!!..?

I speculate he hadn't quite figured out what to do on his cheap graphics program to make it look real.

Here we go again! The Columbia Disaster is destined to become a conspiracy theory like Waco, OKC, and TWA 800. Wonder how many millions we blow having hearings on this one?

I've been a photographer for 17 years and I'll be damned if I know how this guy developed the film from a digital camera. I smell something fishy, and a gullible reporter.
