How's the surf?

I hate to brag, but HB is a damn good place to live. The last week the weather has been great. Unfortunately, with tax time rolling around, I've been stuck in the office most of the best part of the days.

I misspent a large part of my youth there, in the surf, on the pier, surfing, fishing, grunion hunting, clam digging, partying around the fire rings.

We used to surf down at Bolsa Chica where the cooling water from the grasshopper oil wells came out of a big pipe. We used the water to warm up in the winter. Last September my daughters talked me into taking our dog along on vacation, so we went to the dog beach where the pipe used to be. Watch your step at the dog beach!
