You can spare me the cold and calculating callousness. I've seen it on another thread.

If you don't care about what happened today, why bother to post?

You're comparing apples and oranges. The motorists are going about their normal lives when tragedy struck. The astronauts gave their lives for us, in our service.

gosh, I wish I could have my t.v. right here by the computer.

Get a Hauppage TV card and you can Have a TV in the corner of your Comoputer screen. It is invaluable at times like this. Plus having video capture.

*LOL* I know what you mean. I have two sons, ages 3 and 6. Been sticking to the computer most of the day to see the news coverage.

Seriously folks, I remember the Challenger explosion, as I was 11 and it was a snow day, I was at home watching it with my mom. Just praying for the families of the Columbia astronauts and hoping no one has been hurt from the falling debris.

I do care. My emotions are not affected by the tv broadcast since I don't have one. When I started to feel for these seven, it dawned on me that I should feel for the 120 as well. Then I realized, there is much more to it than that.

People die every day, and under worse circumstances than these. I do feel for their families as much as the families of the 120. I just think both need and deserve the same respect.

>>The astronauts gave their lives for us, in our service.<<

I believe they were civilians riding the world coolest roller coaster.

Does Nasa have to beg for recruits for these flights?

Would any of them have gone if they actually believed they would disintegrate on re-entry?

Of course, I'm sure RobRoy will be happy to provide us with the names and addresses of the 120 people who died in car accidents in the past day so freepers can send their condolences to their families.
